A full day of activities for the entire family honoring a great American. @ 1pm, the Film Viewing of " I Shall Not Be Silent" tells the story of civil rights activist and Rabbi Joachim Prinz, a refugee from Nazi Germany who came to the United States in 1937 and immediately identified with African-Americans experiencing the same kinds of oppression he had known as a Jew in Hitler's Germany. Prinz became a civil rights activist, working with Martin Luther King, Jr., Bayard Rustin and A. Phillip Randolph among others. Prinz spoke at the 1963 March on Washington just prior to Martin Luther King, Jr, with a speech entitled, The Problem is Silence.
